...or at least that's what the public broadcasters in Buffalo, New York would like you to believe. This Leap Day is the last full day of independent programming on WBFO 88.7 (and its satellites in Olean and Jamestown) before SUNY sells the stations to rival pubcaster WNED. At 4 PM on March 1, WBFO will begin simulcasting WNED 970 with a new, merged schedule of NPR news, talk and some weekend blues...but before that happens, we're here with some of the last standalone IDs from WBFO's main channel and its HD subs, plus WNED itself. (The WBFO ID heard here is the last one from Anita West's final Sunday afternoon blues show from the old WBFO studios.)

Needless to say, we'll be back next week with a merged WBFO-WNED-WOLN-WUBJ-WNED-FM-HD2 legal for your enjoyment.

And in the meantime, since Leap Day only comes around on my Toppy posting day once every couple of decades, we continue the celebration with a batch of recent IDs from Riverside-San Bernardino CA, which is also the subject of this week's Tower Site of the Week.

As promised, this week we finish up with the Seattle Market. We also have a few stations which can be heard in Seattle from the Bellingham and Olympia Markets.

From Seattle, we have some refreshers and two new HD stations - KBKS-HD2 106.1 and KNDD-HD2 107.7. We also include a call change - KSGX 104.9 "The Brew.".

From Olympia, we have a two stations new to Toppy - KITI-FM 95.1 and KOOL 104.1. The latter is a case of the translator being pushed which is re-broadcasting an AM station. I understand that the station changed its format from Oldies to NewsTalk in early January. This seems to be a trend all over the country.

Next week we will go across state and visit Spokane. The station line-up in Spokane is pretty stable with just a handful of changes and additions.

Just over a month ago, 97.9 WPKX moved into the Hartford market and became WUCS running ESPN Radio. I don't have any WUCS IDs recorded yet, but did catch a couple while the WPKX calls were in use at the new Hartford location. 97.9's former country format moved to 100.9 in the Springfield market, with a slightly more centrally located signal. Enjoy new IDs from these stations as well as a few others, including WDRC-FM's new custom JAM jingle. Enjoy!

Today's Toppy update clears out my files of Los Angeles IDs from my last couple of visits there in 2009 and 2010 (and reminds me I still have a lot to grab when I'm there again later this spring!)

There's also one ID from the Oxnard-Ventura market, which needs a lot of attention from me on that upcoming trip.

Yup, it is (with apologies to Billy) another big batch of Los Angeles legal IDs from several visits in 2009 and 2010.

And wouldn't you know it - no sooner do I finally get my "Jill FM" 92.7 trimulcast legals posted then the stations decide to finally change calls to match the new "Playlist 92.7" identity they adopted last year. Guess it's time for another trip...

This week is the fifth installment of the Seattle leg of Bill's Big Trip 2011. There has been some shuffling in the Seattle Market since the last time a major update has been done. KIRO-FM is now running solo for instance. This week we also feature some new to Toppy HD clips from KJR-FM-HD2, KJAQ-HD2, KIRO-FM-HD3, KING-FM-HD2, KING-FM-HD3, and KISW-HD2 as well as a call change from KLCK-FM 98.9.
