For those unfamiliar, I'm one of the Toppy editors, based in Hoosierland (Indiana). I'm posting a few new ID's from recent trips, not so recent trips, and a local format change from earlier today. Check out the newness in Chicago, DFW, Danville, Fort Wayne and Indianapolis. The WHPP format in the Fort Wayne folder is brand new, as of earlier today.

I've been slowly making my way through a large stack of aircheck tapes, along with making a few new recordings during trips and here at home.

I'm back, with new ID's from Chicago, Dallas, homebase, and Indianapolis.

Now, only 500+ aircheck tapes to go!

Today's update is super simple.

There are two new ID's from last month's Indianapolis trip with Fybush. And when I say that WITT is a "Variety" station, I do mean it.

The second batch* of ID's are from my homebase. The local "We Play Anything" format is known as "Joe." However, the radio station was stuck with its former WVBB call letters (they stood for "Vibe" when the station had a "Classic Dance" format). Recently, WVBB exchanged call letters with tiny WJOE(AM) in Orange, Massachusetts. And the new WJOE "Joe FM" is making a big deal about their new call letters, as you can hear in the multiple ID's posted.

I emerge from hiding with new ID's from various trips, airchecks, and one from here at home. The trips include Appleton, Grand Rapids, Knoxville, and last week's trip with Fybush to Indy. The aircheck collection ID comes from DC. Of course, check out the interesting legal twist from the homebase ID.

And thus it is. No gym fees. No guilt about eating that extra pound of cake. No guilt about my newest sweet tooth addiction (Oreo Old Fashioned Candy Cane Creme cookies...mmm).

Tonight's mixed bag (like tomorrow's weather forecast of snow, ice, freezing rain, and paranoia) are ID's from my last December 2007/January 2008 D-FDub trip, along with a few new ID's from homebase.

Enjoy the new sounds, and avoid the paternity suits (listen to the WBYR ID in the Fort Wayne folder, and all will be explained)...

The time machine ID's are from Evansville, and homebase, but check the newer homebase ID's, too.

The remaining new ID's are from other trips: DFdub, Indianapolis, Melbourne, FL, and Muncie/Marion, IN.

Congrats as well to the Fybush's on Eli. I fully expect he will be contributing ID's next week - "live from the crib". If he contributes from the crib, and adds a note for some of the ID's, that would bring new meaning to the term "crib notes"...

Tonight's weather forecast at the Indiana extension of the Toppy Update Center is a mix of rain, freezing rain, ice (formed, not falling from the sky), sleet, and snow. Accordingly, I have added ID's from multiple markets: Chicago (February, 2008, with Scooter), Dallas/Fort Worth (December, 2007/January, 2008), the obligatory homebase ID update, Indianapolis after getting home from Dallas, a few May, 2007 ID’s from A1A/Melbourne, Florida, an old ID from a now-jailed radio station owner in Scranton-Wilkes Barre, and South Bend, where Scooter and I continued our February, 2008 Chicago trip.

I have updated a few files - nothing is really "new" in Dallas/Fort Worth, but I'll add a few from there, plus other areas, tomorrow.

My 2008 resolution is to finish listening to and labeling the stack of 250 aircheck tapes that are either not labeled or partially labeled. I'm reconstructing my aircheck list, online, here. (email blaine at tophour dot net if you are interested in obtaining some airchecks!)

Within tonight's update are several ID's from trips I've made. First up are three 2007 ID's from Chicago. Second, is a five January, 2007 ID update from Grand Rapids. And last are three ID's - two from the just completed Dallas/Fort Worth trip, and one while I was waiting back in Indianapolis, after returning from DF-Dub.

[Radio Geek Alert: I rolled over 50 sides of tape in the Metroplex, so expect plenty of ID's in the coming months.]
