Short titles? No problem!
Last month I had the distinct pleasure of visiting New York City as part of my work with Draft King, and I attended the first two days of the 2012 NFL Draft in person. It was a blast being back up there — my last trip to New York was a two week run in January 2006 where I was fortunate enough to play a small role in what, in looking back at it now, was the beginning of the golden era of Sirius satellite radio. Howard Stern fans know all about 1/9/06; I saw it happen first-hand. I lived it.
If you’ve never been to NYC, you really need to pay it a visit at least once in your life. It’s like nowhere else in the world. During my most recent trip there I visited the NFL’s plush headquarters on Park Avenue, enjoyed the opening night of the 2012 NFL Draft from the VIP section at Radio City Music Hall, and dined on NYC-style pizza, my personal favorite. Have a slice of pepperoni pizza at Two Boots Pizzeria if you find yourself in midtown Manhattan. You won’t regret it.
What happened after I came back home… well, that wasn’t so good. But never mind that: enjoy this first batch of IDs from my visit, including one from 92.3 WXRK-HD2, the current home for the present incarnation of New York’s K-Rock, which is one of the best alternative rock stations out there. I especially like that the legal ID is followed by the first few seconds of “Aberdeen” by Cage the Elephant, which is an outstanding song.
